APPLE UNVEILS IPHONE 15
The transition to USB-C is expected to significantly reduce electronic waste
As is tradition, Apple held a Keynote event on September 12th. This event showcased the new model of iPhone, 15, as well as the Apple Watch series 9, and Ultra 2. It also seems that Apple has made a big switch regarding their choice of chargers; moving to USB-C. We believe it's a mix of creating parity between their products which already had USB-C, and the new laws passed in the EU.

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus:
Apple kicked off the event by introducing the highly anticipated iPhone 15 and its larger counterpart, the iPhone 15 Plus. These devices represent the pinnacle of smartphone technology, boasting an array of exciting features.

Display Brilliance: Apple has doubled down on display quality, delivering twice the screen brightness from previous devices for an immersive visual experience that's unmatched in the industry.
USB-C Charging: Embracing the future of connectivity, Apple has adopted USB-C charging for the iPhone 15, making it more versatile and convenient for users.
Dynamic Island: Building on the success of the iPhone 14 models, the iPhone 15 inherits the new Dynamic Island, now with even more interactivity.
iPhone 15 Pro:
For users who demand the utmost in performance and capability, the iPhone 15 Pro models step up to the plate.
Titanium Enclosure: These models feature a robust yet lightweight titanium enclosure, ensuring durability without compromising on design aesthetics.
The Action Button: Say goodbye to the classic toggle switch for silent/loud mode. Apple introduces the Action Button, a versatile addition that retains its core functionality while offering endless possibilities. Users can customize the button to perform various actions, such as launching the camera, recording voice memos, and more, thanks to the integration with the Shortcuts App.
A17 Chip: Powered by the all-new A17 chip, the iPhone 15 Pro models offer enhanced mobile gaming capabilities, delivering a seamless and immersive gaming experience like never before.
Sustainability at the Heart of Innovation
In a significant move towards sustainability, Apple has revamped the internal design of the new iPhone models, utilizing 100% recycled aluminum. This not only contributes to a greener future but also makes repairs more accessible and affordable, aligning with Apple's commitment to environmental responsibility.
Apple Watch Ultra 2:
Apple enthusiasts also witnessed the unveiling of the Apple Watch Ultra 2, a smartwatch that redefines ruggedness and functionality.
Performance Upgrades: The Apple Watch Ultra 2 raises the bar with new performance updates and the innovative S9 SiP chip. It's a wearable powerhouse ready to tackle your daily adventures.
Carbon Neutral Options: Apple continues its eco-conscious efforts by offering carbon-neutral options for the Apple Watch Ultra 2, giving users the chance to make sustainable choices without compromising on style.
Double Tap Gesture: One of the standout features of this smartwatch is the Double Tap gesture. By simply tapping your index finger and thumb together, you can perform various actions with ease, from managing your app stack to answering calls, controlling music playback, and more. My personal favorite is being able to stop a timer utilizing Double Tap. I can't tell you how many times I’ve stopped a timer with my nose because my hands are full. It's a game-changer for one-handed usability.
New connections, or old friends?
In a bid to harmonize the user experience across its ecosystem, Apple has introduced some exciting changes to their connectivity options in the 2023 lineup.
USB-C Charging: One of the standout features is the adoption of USB-C for charging in both the iPhone 15 and the updated AirPods (Gen 2). This universal standard brings greater convenience to users, as it allows them to charge their iPhone, Mac, iPad, and AirPods with a single cable. Not only does this simplify your charging needs, but it also aligns with Apple's goal to achieve carbon neutrality. By reducing the number of cable types in circulation, this transition to USB-C is expected to significantly reduce electronic waste.
Recharge Your Devices with Ease: Apple has taken the concept of interconnectivity to the next level by enabling the ability to recharge your AirPods or Apple Watch directly from your iPhone. This feature exemplifies Apple's dedication to enhancing the synergy between its devices, making it more convenient than ever to keep your gadgets powered up and ready for action.
Stay Updated with iOS 17: To make the most of these exciting changes and stay ahead of the curve, be sure to update your iPhone to iOS 17. This latest iteration of Apple's mobile operating system offers a slew of new features and enhancements that are sure to elevate your user experience. iOS 17 is available now, so don't miss out on the latest and greatest that Apple has to offer.
