Transforming Wellness for the Digital Age
Transforming Wellness for the Digital Age
The Challenge
For the last 15 years, the health and wellness industry has experienced a significant shift in customer preference. In the past, organizational or community wellbeing solutions were often centered around physical locations and paper tracking. Today, people seek health and wellness resources on-demand and at their fingertips, but still need a level of group accountability.
OUR
APPROACH
Navigate partners with populations from small Iowa communities to Fortune 50 companies. To understand the range of audiences with varying aptitudes for technology, the project began with a research and discovery phase focused on audience identification and identifying key motivations, deterrents and needs.
From a technical approach, Shift leveraged high-end software development techniques allowing the development team to build quickly. By leveraging a robust software development lifecycle along with test-driven development, lean data architecture and modern tooling, Shift was able to build an application that wasn’t just fast but scales. This allowed Navigate to know the sky was the limit on its growth. The team also worked to achieve both high levels of security and user privacy while maintaining a compelling user experience.
The Solution
A robust technology platform was developed that utilizes comprehensive tools and resources, incentive tracking, biometric data, personalization, rewards and third-party integrations to serve as a user’s home base for wellbeing. The platform is a white-label software as a service offering built for scalability and flexibility and includes both a web application and native mobile applications. Through the platform, each user’s experience is personalized by utilizing a variety of data spanning from biometric inputs and activity tracker data to personal interests and dislikes to deliver recommended challenges, articles and recipes.
Navigate can create a customized experience for every client through a branded platform that features custom company challenges and the ability to turn on or off certain platform features depending on client preference.
Other features of the platform include: third-party device integrations, single-sign-on mechanisms, public application programming interfaces, ADA accessibility, PHI data handling, HIPAA compliance, and a robust admin portal for management and reporting.
